Anchorage resident Jeanette Douglas, 50, died Aug. 9, 2008, of natural causes at home.
Visitation will be at noon Monday at Gods Greater Holy Temple, 12601 Old Seward Highway, with a service afterward at 1 p.m. A reception will be at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 1650 Abbas Circle.
Pallbearers will include Xaiver Douglas, Steve Bolin, Cory Hansen and Alexzander Douglas. Bishop Ray will officiate. Burial will take place at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jeanette was born Aug. 26, 1957, in Phoenix, Ariz. She moved to Alaska in August 1960. She worked on the trans-Alaska pipeline and with the Anchorage School District and Department of Transportation.
Jeanette was a member of Gods Greater Holy Temple.
Some of her hobbies included fishing, singing, writing poems and gardening.
Her family wrote, She was a kind and generous person, always willing to help others, opening her heart and home, praying and talking about God.
Survivors include her sons, Alexzander and Allahjah Douglas; father, Earl J. Douglas Sr.; mother, Clare V. Douglas; twin sister, Jeanetta Douglas; brothers, Earl J. Douglas Jr. and Christopher and Donnell Douglas; and sister, Terri Wynn, all of Anchorage.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; both sets of grandparents; one uncle; and several aunts.
Memorial bequests may go to First National Bank, P.O. Box 200668, Anchorage 99520-0668, account No. 70507058.
Arrangements were with Janssens Evergreen Memorial Chapel. |
