Thomas Raymond Kalter of Woodland Park passed away Friday, August 14, 2008 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was the beloved husband of Sunny and a loving father to Jonathan R. Kalter and his fianc�, Stephanie Garthright of Woodland Park, CO, and Beth Davis of Nebraska. He was a dear brother of Richard Kalter of Illinois; Sandy Purdue of Illinois; and a loving grandfather of Kareena Corbin and Haley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother. Tom loved firefighting and was a member of the N.E. Teller County Fire Department. He had a distinguished career with the government and was well- respected in the Department of the Army where he was Director of Human Resources at Fort Carson. He was adventurous and enjoyed hiking, canoeing, skiing, the outdoors, playing games, music, wildlife and spending time with his German Shepherd, Sage. He was community minded and involved with many Teller County organizations including the Sheriffs office and served as an EMT. In his early years, he was an expert fencer. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church, 116 Southwest Street, Woodland Park, CO. at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Family and friends are invited at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday to Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, 51 CR #5, Divide, CO to join in the procession with full firemans honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association. Arrangements by Mountain memorial Funeral Home, Divide, CO. |
