FRANK D. CALIA HAMMOND, IN Frank D. Calia, age 67, of Hammond, IN, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Roberta J.; one sister, Julie Calia of Hammond, IN; special children of Cheryl and James Mayes, Laurie (Tim) Hill and their children, Brittney and Andrew, Veronica Mayes and her son, John, Jacqueline Mayes and James Lee Mayes all of Hammond, IN; brother- in-law, Allen (Kathy) Shank of Lucerne, IN; 10 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Marion and Jenny Calia; and sister, Carmela Calia. A celebration of Franks life will take place Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Cremation at Heritage Crematory will follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to Indiana Lions Eye and Tissue Bank, Inc., 727 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46240. Frank was a lifetime resident of this area and was a retired clerk from the IHB Railroad. For information, call LaHayne Funeral Home at (219) 845-3600.
