** Our client is an established retail organization seeking a Director of Accounting to lead the accounting and finance team through their continuous expansion. **
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
„X Management of financial reporting as well as all day to day accounting operations; general ledger, journal entries, accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll; month end close process
„X Partner with operations management team in the development and preparation of departmental budgets; annual operating plans; long-term strategic plans; periodic forecasts for multiple locations
„X Manage and develop accounting policies and procedures; identify areas for improvements and cost efficiencies
„X Prepare financial reporting packages for firm Partners; partnership reporting
„X Prepare variance analysis, financial analysis, various Ad Hoc analysis as requested by firm Partners
„X Oversee and coordinate annual audits with external auditors; interface with external CPA firm on various tax planning and strategies
„X Manage, develop and train staff; ensure timely reporting of monthly close processes
„X Lead in the implementation of new accounting software package
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
„X Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements
„X Strong financial background and ability to develop financial analyses and reports
„X Intermediate to advance Excel skills; previous major accounting software package experience required, i.e. Great Plains, JD Edwards, Mas200, SAP
„X Previous systems conversion/implementation experience
„X Possess an assertive, energetic personality with the ability to work autonomously in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
„X Ten years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
„X Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
„X Minimum of two years of public accounting experience and CPA certification highly desired
„X Previous retail/restaurant industry experience required
