In response to an enquiry regarding the speed of this document scanner, in particular when duplex scanning, I performed the following test:-
1) Installed an Adaptec 2940 SCSI card into my PC. Windows 2000 recognised the card straight away on boot-up and made it available for use. SCSI-ID of the Ricoh document scanner was address 4.
2) Downloaded and installed the TWAIN driver for the Ricoh IS330DC for Windows 2000 from ricoh.co.uk
3) Put 12 letter-heads into the ADF tray (automatic document feeder) and used my digital camera software, Photosuite, to duplex scan the 12 letter-heads.
4) Time taken to duplex scan 12 letterheads (ie, 24 scans) was three and a half minutes. No manual intervention was required, for example, for paper-jams, etc.
